 Location and surrounding areas
The Studio Aphorisma Centre is situated on a hill in the Chianti region of Tuscany, in a former farmhouse surrounded by vineyards, olive groves, and century-old cypress and oak trees. A short distance away is the Cassian Way, the Roman road that connected Florence to Siena and to Rome itself.
The Tuscan region of Chianti is not only renown for the production of excellent wines and tasty olive oils, but also still bears visible traces of the ancient culture and traditions which molded it. Along the roads of this region, you find religious buildings dispersed along ancient pilgrimage paths, numerous medieval towns, large farmhouses in stone and terracotta, imposing stately villas, old castles, fields, woods and gardens - a countless number of ancient landmarks which bear witness to the passage of time.
The Chianti region is conesequently a culturally rich and stratified territory permeated by art. In addition to preserving many prestigious traces of the past, this territory has today also become a privileged experimental space for the work in progress of contemporary art. In recent years, several artistic installations were set-up in this area, arousing much interest and curiosity and the desire in many visitors to discover places that are not usually included in traditional tourist itineraries, thus offering visitors the possibility to enjoy various parts of this territory as open air art exhibitions.
At the request of participants, we are pleased to organize group visits to contemporary art parks in Tuscany so that our guests can experience the pleasure of art in the open air.
