WEAVING COURSES
 Purpose of the courses
The purpose of these courses is to allow participants to develop design skills and technical-handicraft expertise in the textile field that generally revolves around interior decor, apparel, fashion accessories and decorative fabrics.
Participants are asked to focus on the proposed theme and develop their personal project drawing inspiration from the Tuscan landscape and local culture.
Target audience
Our courses are designed for anyone who loves creating objects with their own hands and is looking for new creative stimulus. Our courses are adapted to the individual needs of participants and are therefore suitable both for people with a solid artistic background as well as those with little or no experience in the field. The most important requirements are inquisitiveness and the desire to broaden one's knowledge of this creative activity.
The Study Centre and its equipment
The weaving centre is a multifunctional space that comprises several open areas connected to one another and thus forming a larger space suitable for textile activity. In summer the cozy terrace next to the entrance enables participants to work outside if they prefer.
The centre is furnished with hand looms of various sizes, experimental looms with 24 heddles, a vertical loom for tapestry as well as a loom with the possibility of computerized design . All the equipment, as well as the materials necessary for the completion of their projects, are at the participants’ complete disposal. Participants are encouraged to make use of the large variety of yarns available at the centre, from traditional textile materials like linen, hemp, wool, cotton, silk, etc. to new materials like Japanese paper yarns, copper fiber yarns, ceramic fiber yarns, including new technological fibers as well as non- textile materials.
